Discover the eternal self

It is the illusion in life that feed our fears. Lift and look under the blanket of illusion, and recognize each of these fears. You will see fears that our ego requires to survive. Our ego is a necessary attachment to the physical world so that we can ultimately experience the material, however, paradoxically, it is this attachment that causes our suffering and misery. How do we suffer you ask? We suffer primarily because we “forget” that our spirit thrives on purity, love, and compassion. Our ego, feeds on survival mechanisms that have nothing to do with spirit, but has everything to do with basic survival, albeit how to move our personal power in the world. Our power is manifested through our work, careers, status symbols, material possessions, relationships, finances, sexual appeal, attractiveness, etc. What happens when our power is wielding its way in a direction counter to our spirit? Dis-ease, un-ease, and spiritual angst that shows up in consumerism, consumption, endless searching, finding the new “its,” like The Secret. These are just symptoms of filling the void. No one can fill your void! Don’t look for the next “fix” to be the answer. It isn’t. Below is a poem to assist you in understanding the journey of being your own light source, and defining your purpose within a challenging world of illusion. Stay on the path. Blessing on your journey, Kathy
Standing in your own light
No shadow illuminates bright
Shadows dwell in the creases of your mind
Projecting images of fear to avoid the Divine
Fears that hide your vulnerable traits
Disguised as a warrior in charge of your fate
In silence you learn the true rhythm of your soul
Be prepared to let the self go
It is only illusion that keeps you ashore
Take my hand and fear no more
Hug the river, embrace the land
Laugh with the moon, and take a stand
You are here to discover all that you are
The contents only limited by a glass jar
Open yourself, remove the lid
Spill your vibrance like lava spreading over rock
A boat will appear and will carry you from the dock
Now is the time to leap
The splashing water is only your tears
Rolling down your cheeks from the madness of stifled years
Releasing in torrents the salty taste of old
Enfolding in a sea with a new story to be told
